Halfway between craziness and insanity... halfway between Australia and the United States.
So it comes time to attempt to describe two decades and a bit of existence in small understandable chunks. Like that's ever going to happen.
So the relevant bits.
I was born in a military hospital somewhere in the middle of the USA in the early 80's. My dad has been in the military off and on ever since. I was a military brat, and as such spent most of my early years in an odd assortment of places, including four years in Kentucky, two in Alaska, and a couple of random months in other places. The two places that have meant the most to me however where five years just outside of Chicago (in a place called Gary, Indiana- sing the song by the same name and DIE), and 7 of the better years of my life in a town called West Lebanon, New Hampshire. In New England.
Chicago is important because it is where my parents families are from, and where a random assortment of people who claim to be related to me all grew up. New England is important because it is the closest I have to a real home, of all the places I have lived, and all of my important childhood memories and friendships started there.
I have lived in Sydney, Australia for seven years, and all of all the places I have lived and visited I love Sydney more then any other place. I would love to live here for the rest of my life.
I went to University at UNSW and did a degree in Applied Geography. I love Geography and History and politics. Alot. Alot alot. (So much so I went back to Uni to learn how to teach other people about geography and history) This will become readily apparent. I am a geography nerd. I also like to write. Some day I will write a story which will contain all of these things and no one will ever read it but I will love it.
I am a public transport nut, and I would consider the car my arch-nemesis.
I am very close to my family. Thanks to the military's ever confusing ways my mum and dad live in Kansas, and I am extremely close to them, as I am to my brother, who lives in New England... somewhere, though he is extremely hard to keep track of. I am also very close to my "sister" a high school friend who moved in with us, and who we all consider part of the family (she is in fact closer to me then alot of my 'family' members, and I would visit her in Toronto before I would any of my Chicago based rellies).
I am a pacifist.
I belong to no organised religion, but that is not to say I am an atheist. I have beliefs, they just don't happen to line up with anything anyone else believes. I like to think I am unique.
I am a guy who dates guys. You could say I am gay, and I wouldn't disagree, though I don't use those terms often. I am who I am and I date who I date. It's only an important part of who I am because other people are so keen on making it such. If you have a problem with this, you can bugger off right now.
If you want to know more then that, read the journal. If your really bored there are like two years worth of archives. No better way to get to know me.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Beware though; Answers may not bear any resemblance to reality.
